Chairmans Charity

Supporting Our Chairman’s Charity:

The RNLI

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Chairman’s Charity is the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers work around the clock to help people in danger on the coast and in the water. The charity has been doing this for over 200 years and relies on donations and public support to continue its work.

The South West of England has some of the busiest and most beautiful coastline in the country. From Cornwall and Devon to Dorset and Somerset, thousands of people enjoy the beaches, harbours and coastal paths every year. With so many people visiting and using the sea, the RNLI plays an important role in keeping everyone safe.

RNLI crews based in places such as Newquay, Padstow, Plymouth, Torbay and Poole respond to emergencies at sea in all weather conditions, day and night. During the summer, RNLI lifeguards also patrol many popular beaches across the South West to help visitors stay safe in the water.

The RNLI does more than rescue work. It also teaches people about water safety and how to stay safe near the coast. This education work helps prevent accidents before they happen.

By choosing the RNLI as the Chairman’s Charity, we are supporting an organisation built on service, teamwork and helping others. These are values that many of our members share and understand. Every donation helps support the volunteers, lifeboats and lifesaving equipment that make this work possible.
